In 2020, I started posting my personal favorite photos for each half the year. I managed to do this for the first half of 2020, the second half of 2020, and the first half of 2021. I seem to have forgotten to do this for the second half of 2021 and am just now getting around to doing so for the first half of 2022.
I’m not sure I’ll retroactively go back and write a post about the second half of 2021, but you can see all my favorite photos from that year in my Favorites from 2021 Flickr album.
As I have mentioned before, I have taken significantly fewer photos so far this year than I have in the past. Not sure exactly why that has been other than not having great weather at the times I’ve been available to go out and shoot. The summer has been particularly hot, and I’m also getting less tolerant of being out in the heat which hasn’t been a great combination for going for long photo walks.
That said, I do have quite a lot of photos I’ve tagged as favorites, inflated by our great trip to Arizona and California at the beginning of May.
As before, I don’t have any criteria as to what qualifies as one of my favorites. These are just photos that I find subjectively appealing.
A majority of these were taken with my Nikon Z fc which I had gotten in February. I used it a lot when I first got it, and it was my main camera for our trip.
The first half of 2022 will also go down as the time I learned to love Lomography Color 800.

Considering that I’ve taken only a handful of photos since July 1, I’m guessing that a Favorite Photos from the 2nd Half of 2022 post will be much shorter. That is, if I even remember to post one!
