Last Christmas, Holly gave me a light box which I have enjoyed using. It’s easy to set-up and use. I haven’t used it a lot but am rather glad I have it especially during the winter when going outside to take pictures is less than ideal due to the cold and the lack of sunlight.
During our winter break, I took it out to take pictures of some of the gifts we had gotten for each other for Christmas.
For all of the photos, I used my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV. For most of them, I used my Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 lens.
The light box came with 4 backgrounds: white, gray, black, and tan. I went with the white background for these.
It was hard taking good pictures of some of the shinier items (especially the julep strainer) since you can see the lights in them. But in one of the photos, I really like the reflection of the strainer in the jigger so there are good and bad things about the shiny objects.

I then switched to my Canon EF 28-80 f/3.5-5.6 lens which is the kit lens that came with my Canon EOS Rebel 2000. It’s just an OK lens, but I keep it around because my macro adaptor fits on it. I took a couple photos using this adaptor.

We still have a couple months of winter left so I may find more opportunities to use the light box. I just need to think of more things I can take pictures of in it!
